NetherlandsSince 1860
The Staverse Jol is a traditional Dutch boat type, originally developed in Stavoren by shipbuilder Roosjen for fishing on the Zuiderzee. Later, these robust and seaworthy flat-bottomed boats were also built as pleasure craft with a cabin. They are known for their durability and excellent sailing characteristics, ideal for Dutch inland waterways and coastal areas.
