Sweden Yachts 50 1990 – Ready for an Ocean Voyage

The 1990 Sweden Yachts 50 is a Swedish cruiser designed by Peter Norlin and Jens Ostman, built by Sweden Yachts in Sweden.

This particular yacht has recently undergone an extensive refit by the owner, a naval architect and superyacht refit specialist, specifically with a family circumnavigation in mind.

With a length overall of 15.25 meters, a beam of 4.35 meters and a draft of 2 meters, this sailing yacht has a displacement of 14.5 tons.

The GRP hull is equipped with a 140 hp Volvo Penta diesel engine, which has 2,566 engine hours and provides a maximum speed of 8.5 knots with a cruising range of 350 nautical miles.

Notable features include new standing rigging, new sails, and the completely renovated teak deck, as well as the shallow wing-keel. The drivetrain consists of shaft-drive with a Gori overdrive-propeller.

On board are three cabins with a total of nine berths and a headroom of 1.94 meters. The yacht is energy and water self-sufficient, and further equipped with air conditioning, a bow thruster, electric genoa furler and electric genoa winches.

The owner's list of new equipment and upgrades is extensive.
